Financial Adventure Give Back & Be Thankful Activity

November 23, 2015

The holidays are soon approaching and now is a great time to think about how your family can give back to others in this busy season. We believe that not all Financial Adventures need to involve money. This month’s Financial Adventure Activity is Give Back And Be Thankful! Everyone has an opportunity to give back to others in their own unique way. This month’s Give Back & Be Thankful Activity will have ideas for you to bring to your family and discuss what works best for you.

“Success is finding satisfaction in giving a little more than you take” ~ Christopher Reeve

When you talk about this month’s Financial Adventure – Give Back & Be Thankful, make it personal. Let each person in your family talk about how everyone needs help from others. How have you received help from others in your lives? Then talk about what matters to each person in the family. Do you have a love of animals or do you wish you could help by donating or volunteering? Lastly, help figure out what everyone has to give. Do you have items like toys or clothes? Do you have time that you could volunteer or a special talent or strength that you could share like baking for a bake sale?

Once you decide what is important to each member of the family, try to decide how you will give this holiday season. Will you do something together as a family, or would each person like to give in their own unique way?

Here is a list of items to get you thinking about different ways to give:

* Volunteer at a non-profit that helps the hungry or homeless
