Welcome Back…and welcome to the fourth of the five series podcast I have for you this week, where I am talking about some of the most common mistakes business owners have been known to make in their business. I want you to be aware of these mistakes and take action to make sure you don’t make the same mistakes in your business.

Today, we are focusing on being patient. In a world where we are used to getting everything done quickly, it can be hard to be patient. It seems like everything we want is available with a click of a button. Think about Amazon and how easy it is to make a purchase with just one click. There are so many ways that allow us to lose our patience, but when you take the time to be patient, you will start to see the rewards.

Let’s talk about giving up too soon. When you are faced with a problem in your business, do you give up right away? If you would just take a moment and really take a look at the situation and start asking yourself questions about where you are at and what it will take to bring you closer to what you are aiming for, you’d be practicing patience. I know this is a hard thing to do, especially when moments are passing by quickly. If you find yourself in this situation, try to take a breath, assess the situation, and make a smart decision. Is this something you should truly be giving up on, or do you just need to make a slight pivot to see success?

Failure is often a time when business owners will lose their patience and give up too soon. Rather than just giving up, embrace your failure and learn from it. Is there a way that you can dig deeper into why you are experiencing this failure and create a solution so that you can fix what is broken and see success? Think about everything when it comes to your failures. Assess how these failures were perceived by your customers, vendors, and even other business owners. By gathering this information, you may be able to learn a lot about the situation and turn your failure into a success without starting over with another option from scratch. Believe it or not, some business owners thrive on finding failure so that they can use each failure to create a much better solution. Take a moment and think about how you handle your failures not only in your business but also in your personal life.

By being patient, you could be saving yourself lots of time. Have you ever made an impatient decision and then found yourself paying for that decision by spending way more time than you would have needed to if you would have just been patient and thought the situation through before acting on it? Time is money, and you don’t want to waste your valuable time correcting poor decisions when you could be utilizing that time to generate additional income. Patience is a virtue…take a breath, slow down and make smart decisions in your business with patience.
