Welcome Back…Believing in your product or service and understanding how it can help your customers with their most significant pain points will help you develop the trust and confidence your customers are looking for when you recommend your products to them. You should genuinely feel like your product will help them reach their potential.

If you don’t believe in your product or service, every time you try to sell to your customer, you will feel like you are manipulating them to make a purchase, and you won’t feel good about it. When you don’t believe, you’ll feel more anxious and put off tasks because they make you feel salesy. These feelings will show up in everything you do. You know what it feels like to be sold to or have someone try to convince you to buy something. It’s pretty easy to spot a lousy salesperson. By trying to convince someone to buy a product you don’t believe in, you’ll push them away rather than grow the relationship and bring them closer to becoming customers. They can feel your negative energy and how convincing you are trying to be. Think for a minute, would you feel comfortable selling your product or service to your family or friends? Now, put yourself in your customer’s shoes. Would you buy your product or service from yourself? How can you expect others to believe in your product or service if you don’t believe in what you have to offer to your customers?

If you don’t believe in your product or services, ask yourself what you would need to do to believe in them. Is there a way you can change the product or service? Could you provide additional support so your customer can get more benefits from it? Do you need to change the price so that you feel it is in alignment with what your customer receives? Should you provide additional materials or services so your customer has an amazing experience? You want to find out if you have any doubts, concerns, or fears with your product or services and make the necessary changes so that you have a hundred percent belief in what you have to offer your customers. If you can’t find this belief in your product or service, you might want to think twice about why you are selling it in the first place. You could make a few sales, but you probably won’t reach your fullest potential.

When your behavior directly contradicts your beliefs, it creates a disconnect. This is called cognitive dissonance, which creates psychological and emotional discomfort in situations where your actions don’t match your beliefs. To resolve this discomfort, you either need to change your behavior or your beliefs, so the two are in alignment again. Changing the behavior is ideal in this situation, and you can start doing this by making sure that you are selling a product or service that you genuinely believe in. Take some time to think about each product or service you have in your business. Are you finding any psychological or emotional discomfort when you are selling them? If so, you may need to make some changes like the ones I discussed previously. Jot down reasons why you feel this discomfort and work towards resolving these belief issues.

When you truly believe in your product or services and how it will help your customers, it will show up in everything you do. Every time you talk to your potential customers, market to them, or communicate with them, your belief will be there. People want to buy from someone they can trust and can help them. You should be developing relationships with your future customers by discovering what they really want and need from you and ensuring that your product will fill their needs. Believe in the value your product or service will bring to your customers. How will your product or service make their lives better? Will your product or service's features and benefits be right for them? Will it fill their needs? Be honest about everything when talking with your potential customers, even if that means you need to tell them you are working on improving parts of your product or services so it will benefit them even more in the future. Be true to your beliefs.

Believing in your product or service will help you gain more confidence during the sales process. You need to believe in yourself and know that you can provide your product or services and help your customer. Focus on their needs and not yours. Understand how your product or service compares to others in the market. Be proud of what you are selling. When you genuinely believe in your product or service, it will also help your customers believe. Your passion and confidence should easily be portrayed when you believe deeply in the value of the product or service you offer to your customers.

When you sincerely believe in your product or service, you’ll be more passionate, and selling will come more naturally. You’ll not only easily grow your customer base and revenues, but you’ll feel good about going to work each day and building your ideal business.

I want you to think about a fantastic experience you’ve had in the past. You might have visited a new restaurant that you’ve been dying to try. How easy was it to tell all your friends and family about the most delicious meal you’ve had or even the best service you’ve experienced? When you do this, you are being genuine about every detail, and it is all natural. This is marketing in its simplest form. You experience something you enjoy and want to tell everyone about it. I want you to feel this same way about the products and services you sell in your business. You’ve probably had situations like this where your friends tell you about a remarkable experience they’ve had, and you instantly want to jump on board and experience it yourself. This is how you want your future customers to feel as well; you want them to believe you have the solution that will give them the same remarkable experience.

When you believe in your product or service, it becomes more of a service for you to provide it to help others. Zig Ziglar quotes, “If you believe your product or service can fulfill a true need, it’s your moral obligation to sell it.”
